Tasnim Khalife, MD

I was born in Tempe, AZ but I've been quite the globe-trotter over the past few years. I went to medical school at Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar where I learned Arabic to communicate with patients and was able to travel to parts of Africa, Asia and the Middle East. I chose U of A for the opportunity to work with underserved and refugee populations, the innovative integrative medicine aspect in residency, and the strong sense of community in the program. I come from a diverse background - my father is from Lebanon and my mother is from Mauritius, a tropical island off the coast of Africa - so I thrive in the diversity that Tucson has to offer. I'm a desert dweller and couldn't imagine living anywhere else! Why family medicine? No other specialty gives me the privilege of working with people from all walks of live with the added plus of continuity of care. My other interests include geriatric care and international medicine, with hopes to pursue an MPH in global health in the future. After residency, I accepted a faculty position and remained here in Tucson, AZ.
