I was born and raised in Kingman, Arizona and I am a member of the Navajo Nation. I attended medical school at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Moving to Michigan for medical school was the first time I lived outside of Arizona and experienced life from a different perspective (i.e. cold winters, snow and vitamin D deficiency.) Although I am proud to be a Spartan, my heart belongs to the Arizona Wildcats. I completed both my undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Arizona. Choosing family medicine at the UA was an easy decision for me for several reasons: 1) numerous opportunities to work with underserved communities, 2) the program’s longstanding relationship with Tucson and southern Arizona, 3) Tucson’s warm winters, and 4) the laid back attitude of the city. I am very interested in American Indian health and improving the quality of and access to health care. Though Indian health is a passion of mine, I am also very interested in improving the navigation of our complex health system for underserved populations. Why Tucson? There is a great music scene, many delicious restaurants and interesting shopping venues that can fill an entire day off! In addition, March Madness is my favorite time of year and my Wildcats are always ready to play in the tournament! Bear Down, Arizona!
