Why did you choose UA Family Medicine? Full spectrum training in an amazing location. A strong emphasis on global health, with a diverse, underserved patient population. The opportunity to work with refugees and to use Spanish on a daily basis. And of course, supportive and enthusiastic residents and faculty. I couples matched (my partner is in EM) and the U of A had everything we were looking for.
What is your favorite thing about living in Tucson? Mt Lemmon! Incredible access to climbing and biking. Affordable cost of living with minimal traffic. Easy going people. Breweries and delicious Mexican food galore.
What are your interests or hobbies outside of medicine? Getting outside! Climbing, mountain biking, hiking, backpacking. Hosting BBQs and pizza nights.
What are your professional interests within Medicine? Global health. Ultrasound. Women's health. Medical education and teaching. Underserved populations.
Favorite Way to spend a day off? Climbing all day on Mt Lemmon, then coming home and hosting everyone at our house for pizza night.
Best Arizona getaway? Sedona! Picture evergreens and cactus interspersed beneath gorgeous blue skies and stunning red rock. Complete with some of the best mountain biking trails I've ever been on.
