Hands-On Experiences For Students
Mobile Health Program projects and programs provide hands-on learning experiences and opportunities for health profession students. Student interns learn about at-risk communities, health disparities within hard-to-reach communities, and how a lack of health care affects many Americans. Health disparities are inequalities in health care caused by lack of income, living in remote and hard-to-reach communities, lack of insurance or other factors due to race, gender, culture, or religious beliefs.
Student Internships
Paid internships are available for students in a variety of topics. Students may perform medical or public health research in a program or project of their own, learn to write and submit grant proposals or learn to manage a project in public health. This invaluable experience helps prepare them for a productive career in public health or the health sciences.
Medical students, nursing students, those studying public health topics, and others volunteer their time or work as interns in the field for college credit. All are committed to underserved populations.
