I was born and raised in northern California, and spent my college years in the San Francisco Bay Area. I got my BA in Psychology and Master of Public Health at the University of California, Berkeley, and completed medical school at the University of California, San Francisco as part of PRIME-US (Program in Medical Education focused on the Urban Undeserved). My interests within medicine and public health include Latino health disparities, traditional and integrative medicine, mental illness and substance abuse, and pipeline programs/youth outreach.
Outside of medicine I enjoy eating good food, hanging out with my husband and pets, hiking, watching movies, camping, listening to audio books about dystopian futures (or the Game of Thrones series), biking, and reading The Walking Dead comics.
