After residency, I joined a family medicine group in Texas doing full-spectrum health care. We did full-time outpatient clinic, followed our own hospital patients, delivered babies, took care of the infants in the nursery, and also had nursing home patients as well as hospice care responsibilities. True "cradle-to-the-grave" medicine. It was a wonderful but sometimes overwhelming practice. After 3 years, I became a partner in this group. After 5 years, my husband and I were ready to start a family and decided that this practice was just too demanding for the life we want. I left the group to become a student health physician at Texas State University's Student Health Center in January of 2010. At my current practice, I am doing only outpatient clinic caring for university students.
