I was born and raised in Detroit, MI. I attended University of Michigan and majored in Sociology with a sub-concentration in Health and Aging. I completed medical school at Meharry Medical college in Nashville Tennessee. I couples matched with my boyfriend who is an Internal Medicine resident in the UofA main program.
As a Detroit native, I suffered through 21 brutal winters and snow storms. I decided I couldn't take it anymore, hence, why I am in dry, sunny Arizona! The program is pretty amazing too but that's a bonus :-) My passions include working with underserved communities, preventive medicine, integrative medicine, women's health, and behavioral health. As a family physician, I am excited to be able to offer care from the beginning of life to the end, to be first contact, and to empower patients to take charge of their health.
